Only being available in audiobook is just unacceptable and intolerable. I found this protagonists intrusion into victims support group escpecially offensive.m
This book is terribly boring and unenjoyable to listen to. I’ve tortured myself listening to it on several nights when I couldn’t sleep and couldn’t focus my eyes to read.
I don’t recommend it unless you have terrible insomnia and bedtime stories put you to sleep.

I did not enjoy reading this and found the book unnecessarily cryptic. I really disliked how manipulative the “victim” was, seeing as how she was the one who put her and her sister in the position to be abducted. I do believe in “Believe the Women” but women like “Heather” make liars out of all women, and that infuriates me.

This is not my favorite cozy series, but it’s definitely readable, and there’s several really awful people to despise. The good are very, very good and the bad are very, very bad.
It involves a current murder and a very cold-case missing person that was really a murder 40+ years earlier. It’s nicely wrapped up in the end.
I don’t know why there hasn’t been a 3rd book - it’s been 7 years since this was written.

This is a very good story, and I hope the library gets the sequel soon.
Military SciFi is not my preference, but this book is character-centered rather than all about battles, so it was involving and compelling. Dealing with the differences in language and thought processes with a totally alien species was presented very convincingly. The Captain had to be a skilled diplomat to navigate that mess.
Recommended. This is a very good story, and I hope the library gets the sequel soon.

I’m finding this book aggravating and unpleasant, and I’m not interested in making myself finish reading it. The hostility between the protagonist and nearly all other women is painful to read, and her illogical thought-process and conclusions are pretty ridiculous.

Excellent story - a harrowing tale of why it’s so dangerous and foolhardy getting in bed with the drug cartels. I just wish the previous 5 books (currently on order) had been available 1st, as there were obvious gaps in the history. But still worth reading, and I’m sure I’ll want to reread it after I’ve read the others.

Another wonderful story with the incredibly charming Hercules and Owen and all the terrific friends of Kathleen in this small town. The mystery is straight out of Poe’s Telltale Heart and keeps you guessing til the end.

This was okay, not great, and not as good as the 1st book. Tons of melodrama and interpersonal relationship issues, and a couple truly ridiculous scenarios with the rival cupcake baker, who is truly conniving. Lots of people judging other’s relationships, which was ultimately unfair.
The ending was rushed - I felt like the publisher demanded it now or never, so she wrapped everything up in 1 chapter - rather ridiculously. In order: absurd and implausible; totally unresolved; rash and ill-considered.
I agree with a former reviewer as a small business owner - you CANNOT close your business whenever you want! That’s how you go OUT of business.

This started a bit slow, but picked up speed and eventually became hard to put down.
Tricia’s sister is still a demanding, bossy, manipulator that I’m appalled she lets walk all over her, but her bookstore staff is great and constantly covers for her while she’s being Angie’s servant. Make that slave - servants get paid. Tricia doesn’t.
The murder victim was pretty despicable - a lying, thieving, freeloader (not a spoiler - it’s in the 1st few pages), so it’s hard to feel sorry she’s dead or be too motivated to find her killer, but Tricia does.
The ending is very sweet.

This book was better than I expected and I quite enjoyed it. Her Uncle Eb gives a whole new layer to “crotchety”, but underneath that, is probably a decent person.
There’s several red herrings to chase and a couple truly despicable characters. Mostly, it’s a small town on it’s last legs, and it’s residents struggling to survive.
I also absolutely adore the cover art. The artist truly knows kitties.

The description says this is the 1st book of a trilogy, but it feels like the 20th book in a long-running series. I hate that.
I’ll give it another try, but I’m not encouraged by the 1st couple chapters.
I managed to finish this, but can’t say I enjoyed it. It’s just not that interesting.
If you like international espionage, try the Gabriel Allon books - start with “The Kill Artist” - they’re better written, and Allon doesn’t have an infuriatingly stupid wife. The description says this is the 1st book of a trilogy, but it feels like the 20th book in a long-running series.
