Growing up in a small northern BC town was never easy for author Anya Wyers. Struggles at home were worsened by a close family member’s alcoholism, which result in co-dependent relationships within a small family dynamic. In the candid words written to her kindred spirt, we are given Anya’s honest recollection of her childhood, we learn how she became the strong woman she is today through therapy and her best friend’s love. As we learn about Anya’s life and accomplishments as told through her written words to Rachael we are brought to wonder why it is that Anya is writing letters to Rachael. Where has she gone? What happened to inspire Anya to write these letters to the mountain?
