Time out for Patches is a story of a mischievous pet goat that causes lots of trouble in the Tri-Cities. His escapades take place on streets in Coquitlam and Port Moody. Many of the street names used in the story are streets with elementary schools. The goat does what goats do. He climbs on things he shouldn’t and he eats things he shouldn’t eat. In the process the fire department and animal control have to come to his rescue. Every time the goat misbehaves he has to do time out in the shed. To the little girl’s way of thinking sharing timeout in the shed with the goat would be a better idea than sitting on her bed. Somehow, it seems the little girl’s father does not share her enthusiastic suggestion. Time out for Patches has a special appeal for children living in the Tri-Cities.
