This war film stands out from others because of the extensive air support to the joint operation by U.S. Army Special Forces and the Northern Alliance to capture Mazar-i Sharif, a strategic site under the Taliban control in Oct 2001, the first US military deployment in Afghanistan after 9/11. Note: (Before the ending credits: "In 2012, to honor their extraordinary heroism, a statue of a Horse Soldier was dedicated at the World Trade Center site.") And from various sources: Originally commemorated by Vice President Joe Biden and Army Lt. Gen. John Mulholland on Veterans Day in 2011, the 18-foot bronze statue depicts a Green Beret soldier on horseback known as ‘Horse Soldier’ was installed inside the West Street Lobby of One World Financial Center opposite Ground Zero, and now rests in Liberty Park overlooking the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City since Sep 14, 2016.
