I went into this with high expectations. How could I not? I've genuinely seen only good things plastered all over goodreads. Surprise, surprise, my high expectations led to disappointment. I thought I was going to love the characters. I've seen so many people gush about Monty. I've seen plenty of Percy and Felicity gushing as well. But none of them did it for me. Especially not Monty. I've read enough books that really pull off 1st person perspective to not be put off by it at first anymore. I really thought that Monty's perspective was going to be a good one, and I was going to fall for his character. But it really did nothing for me. Percy did very little for me, and I appreciated Felicity's character but in the end, they all seemed terribly contrived and relatively one-dimensional. Ugh. I wanted to like them, I really did!! Monty and Percy's relationship had it's nice, cute moments. But overall... mildly disappointing. I expected a lot more. If I had loved the characters it definitely would have done more for me, but even then I think I would feel put out. Outside of me not digging the 1st person, I wasn't a fan of the writing. I'm not mad about it, but it really could have been better. The plot started off strong but really went downhill. It got so ridiculous that I could barely stand it. If you were one of the many who was able to really enjoy this book, all power to ya!!
