A bend in the road was book was filled with suspenseful turns and dramatic stops, I could not find myself to put the book down. The story follows two lovers, Miles Ryan and Sarah Andrews. Miles, a recent widow raising his Jonah, and Sarah is Jonah’s elementary school teacher who just got out of a divorce. After one small parent teacher meeting between the two, the connection was made. However, there’ s something that is pulling them apart- to find out a secret that will determine the future of their relationship. This book was romantically written, and I adored the way it made me feel as if I knew the characters myself, as if they jumped out of the page. The title ‘A bend in the road’ refers to the accident that Miles’s wife, in which she got killed, but it is also metaphor between the love story of the two central characthers in the novel as well. I think this novel is good for teenage girls like me, who are in need of a juicy romantic story. Just like most Nicholas Spark novels, a bend in the road is written with vivid descriptions and heartfelt emotion. This novel could also be a good read for males as well because the story is told in the male perspective, and Miles is no doubt a character that some males would connect to. What I really enjoyed the most about this story was that it was not one dimensional, there were many layers in the story that helped me connect to what the characters were going through. Be sure to hit the bookstores to check this novel out!
