Easily 4+ stars. (No Spoilers). This book is like CANDY...wickedly enjoyable, short & sweet, but not epic by any means. I would recommend this only to someone in the mood for a typical romance with the gorgeous alpha male/gorgeous virgin female or anyone like me who's a huge KMM fan. Maybe I shouldn't use the word "typical" romance because paranormal aspects of the storyline have KMM's unique stamp i.e. her faery/Druid/hallows/Unseelie/Seelie world! (Which I love a lot!) This book was truly fun and so easy to get into. I'm not a fast reader and I finished in a day and a half so it's not a huge investment of time. While reading this I was reminded how much I love KMM writing style. She has a way with words that often makes me smile and easily draws me into the characters. I am glad however for her career change to UF as I love her FEVER series twice as much as any of her romances because let's face it...romances are redundant because they need to satisfy certain reader's needs for romance with HEA closure. I don't fight it but accept them for what they are. The HIGHLANDER series, like any such romance series, SHOULD NOT be read one-after-another IMO. BTW, I was suprised that at the end of the book things are mentioned that are practically spoilers for the FEVER series! She certainly had the groudwork set before her Fever series "dream"! Anyways, can't wait for her to write her next series!
