At first when I picked this book off from the library, I said to myself, Hey this is almost like the classic, Pride & Prejudice! But unfortunately, I haven’t read that novel, but I’ve heard other people read about so...I just know the title. When I read the title of the novel it hit me, Prada is a shoe! And then I got really confused. But once I started reading, it all made sense. Callie is clumsy nerd. And when you’re a nerd, you’re not popular. So when she leaves on a school trip to London, she buys a pair of Prada pumps in which she thinks will get her popular. But when she starts her few steps in her shoes, she falls and hits her head. And the next think she knows, she’s in 1815. After wondering around lost, she meets a young girl named Emily who mistakes her for her childhood friend from America. But soon she meets Alex, a handsome superior Duke of Harksbury. And the two of them get closer and closer. However Emily is thrust upon an engagement she does not agree with. Will Callie be there to help Emily end the engagement, and will she unravel her feelings to Alex or will it be too late? Prada & Prejudice is an amazing read. The story is engaging and spectacular. Callie learns that you can’t force yourself to be someone you’re not; you just need to be yourself.
