I love this book! But I don't think it's fair that segregation and racism is against the law and people today,in the 2000's are still against black people?Though Julia May Jackson was a very brave girl and wrote in her diary everyday, even though she was not permitted to,if I were in her shoes I would be very proud of myself since I'm encouraging other slaves to have the freedom to read and write and have all the same rights as any white person.Terrific Job Julia May Jackson(even though your not alive) and great job author, for converting her diary into a book!!!
