It seems that Scottish tales always revolve around family anguish and drama. This one is no exception. The main character, Prentice, at times drives you up the wall with his wailing in self-pity and inability to see the people around him, who have only his best interests at heart. It's a good yarn with a satisfactory ending, but be prepared for nudity, bedroom scenes and language. Real mystery buffs will probably figure out the ending ahead of time.
