The book gets bogged down with a political aspect, although relevant due to nationality of the first dead victim. However, when Rebus solves the mystery the reason for the crime is a domestic dispute...so why the time spent on the red herrings? Other than that compliant, I enjoyed the plotting, Rebus' relationship with Siobhan, and the idea that even good guys can do wrong.
