wonderful adaptation of a Shavian farce. For Dr Who fans, see Tom Baker as the Egyptian doctor. Great quote: " ... why is it that the people who know how to enjoy themselves never have any money and the people who have money never know how to enjoy themselves?" The disc also features "The Apple Cart" with Helen Mirren. This is a fascinating cynical view of the politics of monarchy and democracy, nationalism, trade unions and corporatism; and, of course, society and marriage. Not to mention Brits views of America. In the first part, Magnus delivers a monologue about the responsibility of democracy and "the tyranny of popular ignorance and popular poverty".
