Play version of this novel that was a hit with adults and teenagers alike. In his secret diary, British teenager Adrian Mole excruciatingly details every morsel of his turbulent adolescence. Mixed in with daily reports about the zit sprouting on his chin are heartrending passages about his parents' chaotic marriage. Adrian sees all, and he has something to say about everything. Delightfully self-centered, Adrian is the sort of teenager who could rule a much better world--if only his crazy relatives and classmates would get out of his way. Sue Townsend's play is based on her internationally best-selling book, was created for the Phoenix Arts Leicester, where it received its first production in Septmeber 1984. This volume contains the complete text of the play with introductory notes on the staging by the author; the complete words of the lyrics and music for the melody line of each of the tunes.

I really enjoyed this book it’s is a bout a young boy growing up in England. It’s really interesting about what it was like in the eighties. It is also very funny and it’s also very sad at times. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants read a calm book. It’s not that hard on a reading skill level and I hope you enjoy it if you pick it up.

I laughed out loud reading this and now I have to read the entire series! There were only a few British-specific references I didn't get.

This book was strange, great story line but maybe for a older age group..... He starts the book at 13 and 3/4 but ends the book at 15.....
Would be a good book for 14 and over insted of 13...... Unless you are a very MATURE 13 year old.

But it was still a very good book.

I've probably read this book 15 times. Absolutely hilarious and captures the 80's perfectly. Many poignant parts. Will remind you of your first love and how your parents *always* embarassed you when you were a teenager.

Like "Diary of a Wimpy Kid", but more realistic, funnier, and much, much better.
