"A full moon, a New York City night, and love and music in the air: One of the most enchanting romantic comedies of all time assembles a flawless ensemble cast for a tender and boisterously funny look at a multigenerational Italian American family in Brooklyn, wrestling with the complexities of love and marriage at every stage of life. At the center of it all is a radiant Cher as Loretta, an unlucky-in-love bookkeeper whose feelings about her engagement to the staid Johnny (Danny Aiello) are thrown into question after she meets his hot-blooded brother Ronny (Nicolas Cage), and one night at the opera changes everything. Winner of the Academy Awards for best actress (Cher), best supporting actress (Olympia Dukakis), and original screenplay (by playwright John Patrick Shanley, this modern-day fairy tale is swept along on passionate Puccini melodies, and directed by master storyteller Norman Jewison with the heightened emotions to match"--Container

Set in New York, classic 80s nostalgic rom-com starring Cher, Nicholas Cage, and the late Olympia Dukakis.

It is hard to not have a great time watching Cher and Nicolas Cage fall in love immediately. I don't have too much to say about Moonstruck. It was very funny, if cringey at times. The whole cast clearly had a fantastic time filming this, but especially Cher and Nick Cage. It is filled with hilarious quotes and the special kind of acting you come to expect when you see Nicholas Cage on the cover of a dvd. This is a fantastic movie for anyone who needs to unwind.

One that I can watch year after year.

So apparently the last time I watched this movie was back in 2006 and I rated it one star. Well, I watched it yesterday and I'm watching it again today and it deserves more than one star so I'm bumping it up to three. I'm a John Mahoney fan and he was great as Perry but widely underused. I liked his brief relationship with Olympia Dukakis but I wish they had expanded it more because he definitively needed more screen time. I was disappointed because I thought he had a bigger role. That being said, I liked Cher's romance with Nicholas Cage and the movie as a whole was enjoyable.

Clever, romantic. Great music.

This movie is the epitome of what it means to be an East Coast Italian American. I've watched this movie so many times I can almost quote it by heart. Everything from the "who died?" to "I'm talking about a promise!" rings true. Cher and Nicholas Cage are a joy to behold. Although, I think my favorite line may be, "is that man praying?"

I watched this movie because it was in a list of top romantic movies. I personally don't think it should be in the list. Cher's acting was ok... I have seen worse and I have seen better. Nicolas Cage's acting was so bad it was comical.

One of my most favorite movies. I love the dynamics between members of this family, and Cher is the best!

Moonstruck is quirky and wonderful, and it has a fairy tale feel. It's definitely my favorite Nicolas Cage movie and probably my favorite Cher movie, too. Olympia Dukakis makes everything she is in better. Its writer John Patrick Shanley went on to write and direct Doubt (he wrote the play also).
