Don’t waste your time. Boring and no plot, hard to follow. Series much better.

Plot confusing and story dull. Emphasis on the romance that only takes you to the edge.

Nice light fun, that was well presented. The costumes are amazing and the story is well written.

OMG SO disappointing! Can't remember when I've seen a worse movie. And I loved the TV series. The actors hearts weren't in it, the plot was beyond silly even for a send-up, and the script was bad....Phryne looked as beautiful as usual, but not even close to worth the 100 minutes.

3* I liked the original series better. This was a little far fetch and silly. Still a fan of Miss Fisher!

Although possessing all the trappings of the twenties, the mindset of this movie is thoroughly modern which really put me off. Phryne is very of the current moment and Mary Sue-ish that she’s good at everything, rich, beautiful, smart and without any obvious weakness.
Gave a star because i did like the clothes.

While my husband and I loved the tv series, this movie sucked royal.
Disjointed and ridiculous, the only thing this movie had in common with the series is the faces.
We want our hour and 41 minutes of life back.

On a bigger, broader scale than the television series, this standalone movie is great fun and great escapism--something desperately needed these days.
If you liked the series, you will like this movie. I especially enjoyed the exotic locales although I missed some of the supporting characters back in Melbourne. Luckily, Jack shows up to tussle with our Miss F again--those two are great together!
