Cameron Boxer is very happy to spend his life avoiding homework, hanging out with his friends, and gaming for hours in his basement. It's not too hard for him to get away with it . . . until he gets so caught up in one game that he almost lets his house burn down around him. Oops. It's time for some serious damage control—so Cameron and his friends invent a fake school club that will make it seem like they're doing good deeds instead of slacking off. The problem? Some kids think the club is real—and Cameron is stuck being president. Soon Cameron is part of a mission to save a beaver named Elvis from certain extinction. Along the way, he makes some new friends—and some powerful new enemies. The guy who never cared about anything is now at the center of everything . . . and it's going to take all his slacker skills to win this round.

If you like books where the pretty and popular high school cheerleader gets to be a bully, commit all kinds of crimes, gets away with everything and is rewarded in the end, then this book is for you. In this day of anti-bullying campaigns, a book by a popular author that allows a bully to never be punished just because she's female, should never have been published. And sending her to Harvard, a law school, after all the crimes she committed to get there, was a reward for law breaking.

Don't know where Gordon Korman's head is at but this ending ruined what could have been an otherwise good book.

Cameron Boxer is a real slacker. He loves to play video games and hang out with his friends. He doesn’t do his homework or any other school activities. Life as he knows it all comes to an abrupt halt when he almost burns the house down. Cameron was playing video games and forgot about the baked ziti that his mom left in the oven for him. The kitchen caught on fire and Cameron didn’t even know the fire was burning until the firemen broke down the door to rescue him. Now his parents are beyond angry and have grounded Cameron. They have taken away his video game privileges and given him some ultimatums about homework and volunteering. Cameron, always the slacker, will find a way to get his old life back.
