THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER AND MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK OF THE SUMMER--SOON TO BE A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE STARRING SCANDAL'S KERRY WASHINGTON

An addictive psychological thriller about a group of women whose lives become unexpectedly connected when one of their newborns goes missing.

A night out. A few hours of fun. That's all it was meant to be.

They call themselves the May Mothers--a group of new moms whose babies were born in the same month. Twice a week, they get together in Brooklyn's Prospect Park for some much-needed adult time.

When the women go out for drinks at the hip neighborhood bar, they are looking for a fun break from their daily routine. But on this hot Fourth of July night, something goes terrifyingly wrong: one of the babies is taken from his crib. Winnie, a single mom, was reluctant to leave six-week-old Midas with a babysitter, but her fellow May Mothers insisted everything would be fine. Now he is missing. What follows is a heart-pounding race to find Midas, during which secrets are exposed, marriages are tested, and friendships are destroyed.

Thirteen days. An unexpected twist. The Perfect Mother is a "true page turner." --B.A. Paris, author of Behind Closed Doors

Although I have stuck with this book, I cannot recommend this book. It has been quite twisted in such a harmless way yet it seems to draw influence from Darcy Bell’s A Simple Favor. The books are not the same, but when reading one can see the similarities between characters and instances.
I skipped through the emails because they seemed disinteresting, and not related to the plot. The book will make you roll your eyes with its unbelievable plot. There are so many holes that one could toss a basketball through.
The main problem I had with this book was the consistent changing of locales around the city without giving the reader knowledge. One would read, and three sentences in, you would not know where the character was, or with whom. When I found out, I just gave this how convenient look as I read through those parts.
I just felt like the mystery part was watered down, and the twist was unoriginal, and unbelievable.

While there aren't many good reviews for this book, I found this story relatively interesting! While I wish they didn't save the big "ah ha" moment until the end of the story, I was definitely caught off guard by the ending and was glad I stuck it out and finished the novel. I agree that it was hard to keep track of the many members of the "mommy group" she would throw out there at random. However, that was something I was able to get past because it wasn't too important to the main story line. I liked overall mood the author let the book end on as well.

The story seemed pretty formulaic, and without real depth. Too many characters that I got jumbled in my head and plot twists you see coming a mile away. I'd categorize this as a filler book .. it'll get you through the weekend, but you won't care to remember it by the time next Saturday rolls around.

It felt like reading a parenting book. All those pages of reading mundane things about rashes, fevers and clogged ducts. I did not enjoy this book at all. I couldn't keep track of the characters either. Too many and not developed enough for me to care about them.

Book has too many characters and is slow moving. The basic concept is interesting, but the author could have made the book much more intriguing.

I didn't like this book at all, but still gave it 2 stars. (because I finished it). I just thought it was all just so unrealistic and there were too many characters and it just was not my thing.

A night out---a few hours of fun. What could possibly go wrong? This unputdownable debut explores the pressures of motherhood as well as a mother's worst nightmare. When baby Midas goes missing, the May Mothers are on the case...with unexpected and unnerving results. If you are a new mother, beware!

This book was terrible to me. There was nonstop talk about babies and breastfeeding. I also felt there were too many characters, none of which I cared about. If I want to read a book so heavily focused on tips for new mothers; I'll go pick up a parenting manual.

Fabulous book. I couldn’t put it down. It’s a story about a group of new mothers and one of the babies is kidnaped. It then delves into the history of each of the mothers. Definitely worth the read and it won’t take you very long to finish it.

this was just on over all perfect blend of everything I was hoping for from this book. I loved a lot of the characters, saw great interaction between all of them. Defiantly a book worth your time and the cover is gorgeous
