I used to listen to this title frequently as a cassette audio book. It would work better as an audio because it includes 5 minutes of concentrated affirmations which can be played over and over until they run "in your head" automatically as self-affirming self-talk to boost your self confidence. I found this helpful to overpower the negative "sound track" already playing in my head with harsh criticisms of myself which kept me back from being a more productive and confident person. If the same 5 minute concentrated affirmation text is included in this book, it would be helpful to read and memorize. But, to be most effective, make a RECORDING of yourself saying these energizing positive things about yourself and play it over and over. Just reading it once won't have enough effect. Listening to positive talk in the background while doing something else does put one in a better mood if one's own "self-talk" or automatic thoughts about yourself are t too negative. You can use this general technique to make your own soundtrack of positive self-talk. I have only heard the audiobook, so I am not sure if the paper book would be equally effective. This audiobook was originally on cassettes which break down quickly. There is some chance used cassette tapes of this as an audio book might still be available on Amazon or E-Bay.
