The six-member crew of the International Space Station is on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the crew begins to conduct research, their methods end up having unintended consequences and the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.

Disappointing and predictable. Watch any of the Aliens movies instead.

For a bunch of Doctors they must be the most incompetent bunch of people NASA ever sent to space. If you watch this movie you really have to turn your brain off (like no thoughts at all) to get through this. Would not recommend.

Another hysterical, ego obsessed scientists acting irrational in outer space flick.

Alien tends to get confused as first & foremost being a sci-fi flick -- it's actually a horror flick in a sci-fi setting. Life is the same, although perhaps more intense as it is more based in reality -- or at least one we can associate with given where technology is currently at. Beautifully shot, adequately believable zero-G, actors who are mostly believable as astronauts ... the only beef I have with the film is it's supposed to have a surprise ending ... yeah, I disagree.

Any sci-fi horror film about alien life is going to present lessons you've already seen in the Alien franchise, but this does a pretty good job of trying to be realistic given the roughly present-day setting. In hindsight, there were probably more egregious plot elements in the Alien films than you'll find in this. Europa Report is another similar film but not as good.

This is the story about the dumbest crew ever sent into space. There would be no story without the continuous stupidity that the crew seems to make over and over. Movie would have been over in a couple of minutes if they had just followed contamination procedures.

The kind of movie you can watch again and again... because it's so forgettable.

"Smart people doing incredibly stupid things" sums up the characters and plot as well as the cast and crew making this mess.

ALIEN but with a more contemporary/scientific focus. None of the characters in LIFE are compelling. There's is no Ridley to be found here. The film is close to a dud. But I liked the "will-to-live" statement being made.

If you have a choice between watching the original Alien and this film, go for Alien. I was tempted to give it an extra star for the ending that supports Murphy's Law. It nearly had a "Casablanca" type ending.
