Filmed by Werner Herzog as "Cobra Verde." It was his last film with the volatile actor Klaus Kinski.

A great example of how some catalog librarians are in outer-space, and stay there for light-years, no less! The Viceroy of Ouidah is fiction. So it's inclusion and shelving as a non-fiction book is bizarre. Chatwin's preface states it is a work of fiction.
