I have been very enthusiastic about this series until now. But if you have a Preschooler or 5/6 year old, this might be the perfect book to read and involve them in the kitchen and enjoyment of working with food. I had expectations of more math and measurement, closer to a first/second graders cookbook and gave it less than 4-Stars. The preschooler's mom would rate this at least 4, maybe even 5 Stars. Colorful illustrations (as usual) and lots of fun activities with food; plus scientific facts sprinkled around. Only part I would change is the meringue mountains: eliminate them; way too labor intensive for a preschooler beat w/ hand mixer and then baking w/o burning :^(
