Even though the story plot is weak and makes no sense, the many breathtaking sceneries, extreme sport stunt works, and cool action sequences (CGI or not) still make this action movie worth watching.

Never saw the original, so I came in with a clean slate. What did I walk in to? Hipster Nirvana and adrenaline junkies. Giving back to mother Earth while murdering for a good cause, understood. However, being financed by a rich playboy to fight such a noble and worthy cause seems like a contradiction to say the least. Then again, hard partying; expensive gear; and traversing the globe (leaving devastating eco footprints) is not a cheap endeavor. Morals/ethics be damned! I need a (gas guzzling) chopper to bring me to this pristine snow top mountain so I can snowboard where no one else can afford to. I’m fighting for you Gaia!? Skip.

The movie starts off unbelievably and goes downhill from there. As others have said, the scenery is beautiful and the stunts amazing. But the plot just sucks. It gets to a point where you can no longer suspend your disbelief. Not worth watching.

The original Keanu Reeves film is a classic. Although this remake is well worth seeing for the scenery and stunts, it dumbs down the plot and completely misses the point. Instead of robbing multiple banks to fund their thrill-seeking, these would-be philosophers have a wealthy sponsor but they commit a few unnecessary acts of eco-terrorism in their spare time and that is their pointless undoing. It may be a coincidence but this reversal in emphasis is ironically mirrored in the superficial hair colour switch between the 2 main characters in each movie.

Not one car chase!!

Good action shots and scenery but in this era of CGI you never know where the real leaves off and the faked starts so it is hard to appreciate the stunts. The plot seems to be new-age mumbo jumbo used as an excuse for the action stuff and I mostly fast-forwarded through extended dialog sections. There's also a laundry list of plot and casting irregularities which are distracting.

After first 15 minutes I was on love with this movie! As a former downhill recreational speed skier and athlete, I always enjoy extreme sport scenes and these are awesome! Saw the original movie version many years ago.

Scenic photography 5 stars the rest of the movie minus 4.5 stars which makes it total bunk!! And it's not worth wading through this just to see some nice scenic filming. In a word, it's undeniably awful.

Plot is thin so the only thing you get out of this film is a lot of stunts and clips of extreme sports. I did find some of the stunts fairly entertaining, CGI or not.
