Dark, disturbing tale. Not sure why the setting of Venice was left unnamed-adding to the mystery perhaps...a short read that is on the 1001-books-to-read list.

Early novel from the author of "Atonement" and "Saturday." Filmed in 1990. Not very erotic.

don't waste your time! Or maybe its me, but I couldn't get through the first 40 pages and I like books that suck me in right away. There seemed to be way too much description of scenery and sentences that didn't make much sense.
