One word: Tunacorn. As in: "Mother Moose was riding a bizarre animal. It looked like a unicorn, but instead of a horn, it had a tuna fish on its head." It that amuses you, so will this book.

Because that's what it has to offer for the most part. Plot and character development are thin, with the story existing mainly to deliver the absurd, sometimes bizarre, almost always funny jokes, which are based on wordplay in the vein of the title. The jokes start immediately with our introduction to the main character who just happens to have the first name "Princess" and the last name "Pink" even though the names don't describe her in any way. She doesn't like fairies of princesses or the color pink; she does like dirty sneakers, giant bugs, mud puddles, monster trucks, and cheesy pizza. Following that introduction, many other conventions are turned on their heads in ways that many young readers will find amusing and entertaining--and in ways that will encourage them to stretch their own imaginations (even if in not always the most delightful directions). This is faced-paced, appealingly illustrated fun.

Very cute fractured fairy tale that is a good reading level for my almost 2nd grader.
