Moving households is hard on kids and parents, too. With simple rhymed phrases this story takes us from the sad good-byes to the new neighborhood and "hello" to new friends.

What is moving all about? What do you see when you move? How do you feel?

The simple concepts in simple language give power to this story. Through them children can connect to experiences of moving and the emotions, high and low, that go with it.

Good for discussion during, before, and after.

The story about a family moving houses and all the changes that go with it.

ChristchurchKids Jun 23, 2014

Gloomy skies mirror the miserable mood of a little boy as his family prepares to move to a new town. A farewell wave to the neighbors feels more like "bad bye" than good bye. But both the weather and the boy's spirits brighten as the family reaches their new home, and the boy sees the potential of a "new town, new park, new street, new bark" -- not to mention a new friend who warrants a "good bye" at the end of the day. Realistically portraying the emotional challenges of moving, this expressive book in verse may soothe the worries of children facing a big change.
