Explorer, the exciting graphic anthology series which launched in Spring 2012 with The Mystery Boxes, continues with an incredible roster of comics artists who create amazing new stories around the theme of hidden places in volume two of the series, The Lost Islands. Edited by the New York Times bestselling comics creator, Kazu Kibuishi, this new collection includes well-written, beautifully illustrated stories by Kazu (Amulet), Jason Caffoe (Flight), Raina Telgemeier (Drama and Smile), Dave Roman (Astronaut Academy), Jake Parker (Missile Mouse), Michel Gagne (The Saga of Rex), Katie and Steven Shanahan (Flight), and up-and-coming new artist, Chrystin Garland. Explorer: The Lost Islands is bound to generate the same kind of reviewer and bookseller enthusiasm as the first volume did.

Kazu is one of my favorite comic writers, along with Dave Roman, who wrote the AMAZING Astronaut Academy series, which i suggest you all check out.

Some of the stories are cute and it's a decent way to spend your time. Personally, some of the stories weren't that interesting and is a bit unoriginal. But would love to see more in this short-book "Explorer" series~

"In this follow-up to Explorer: The Mystery Boxes, a talented group of comic artists comes together to tell seven deeply imaginative stories about various kinds of islands. Filled with eerie spirits, lonely castaways, lazy bunnies, a roving DJ, and an underwater volcano, The Lost Islands has something for everyone. By turns whimsical, frightening, funny, and thought-provoking, each absorbing tale has a different visual feel, making this a great choice for readers who prefer short, easy-to-browse books as well as those who were captivated by editor Kazu Kibuishi's Flight series."
