You'll never see WikiLeaks criticize their masters in Moscow

Agree with daveken, the reviewers have missed the forest for the trees, which makes living in this electronic age so easy for the unscrupulous and unprincipled. Assange very probably is a damaged person, but that does not mean that his message should go unheard. This is a more important movie than perhaps perceived by many.

Learn somethings I did not know about Wikileaks and its origins. Engaging enough, but feel there was much more that could have been included to make it more well-round.

The release of confidential documents by Benedict Cumberbatch's character Julian Assange is though informative, an uneffective way for civilians seeking such types of information to react to regrettable decisions by the U.S. Indicative of the U.S. regret is their identification of such documents as confidential.

Julian could have acted ultimately on behalf of the U.S. accepting the attention and staged ridicule of the release of such confidential documents.

Though uneffective due to ignored complaints of regrettable decisions and consequential U.S. citizen deaths, the release of confidential documents ultimately proved uneffective which is just what the U.S. wants, few capable of making considerable change in their decision making as a country.

Contrary to Julian Assange's actions, civilians must attempt to understand U.S. foreign relations and U.S. Armed Forces behavior in order to pursue civil action against controversial opinions from civilian's perspective.

Who was Julian Assange? Was this act insincere and intentional to gain ephemeral attention?

How many civilians are effectively preventing regrettable U.S. actions?

Interesting movie describing the initial concept, the characters and the events that took place during the birth of WikiLeaks. I believe, their data archives as well as their coding and deciphering algorithms are definitely the sterling target of hackers, intelligence agencies, terrorist groups and various capable opportunists...

A decent enough movie, kept me engaged. Not sure what elements are fact or fiction - it's based enough on the real life story that it's easy to blur lines so, depending on the viewer, runs the risk as coming off as a factual account.

From IMDb:

Daniel Berg: These are human beings, Julian. There are lives at stake!

Julian Assange: And what about the lives of the soldiers and the civilians involved in these conflicts? There are squats, unreported civilian casualties, countless incidents of friendly fire - this is information THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW! So the next time you find yourself lecturing me about this organisation, please try to remember, why I created it and why I hired you to help me.

From IMDb:

Julian Assange: Man is least himself when he talks with his own person. But if you give him a mask, he will tell you the truth. Two people, and a secret: the beginning of all conspiracies. More people, and, more secrets. But if we could find one moral man, one whistle-blower. Someone willing to expose those secrets, that man can topple the most powerful and most repressive of regimes.

Julian Assange: If you want the truth, no one is going to tell you the truth, they're going to tell you their version. So if you want the truth, you have to seek it out for yourself. In fact that's where power lies, in your willingness to look beyond this story, any story. And as long as you keep searching, you are dangerous to them. That's what they're afraid of: you. It's all about you. And a little bit about me too.
