One of the most popular Dear America diaries of all time, Ellen Emerson White's bestselling VOYAGE ON THE GREAT TITANIC is now back in print with a gorgeous new package!

Five years ago, Margaret Ann Brady's older brother left her in the care of an orphanage and immigrated to America. When the orphanage receives an unusual request from an American woman looking for a traveling companion, Margaret's teachers agree that she is the perfect candidate to accompany Mrs. Carstairs on the TITANIC, so that once Margaret arrives in New York she will be free to join her brother in Boston. But the TITANIC is destined for tragedy, and Margaret's journey is thrown into a frozen nightmare when the ship collides with an iceberg.

A great way to learn about the sinking of the Titanic, through the eyes of a young orphan girl who appreciates the smallest luxury and takes nothing for granted. Her amazement of the largest ocean liner and all it's luxuries as well as it's occupants is very eye-opening. She is concerned about the ones in steerage and wonders why the ones in first class need to dress up for each meal and have so many courses. Really enjoyed this book.

This was a good book. I couldn't put it down. It was one of my favourites!! Margaret writes about her journey on the Titanic.

I liked this book, but i felt sad too of the way it ended. I'm the kind of person that doesn't like any sad realistic deaths.

Very well written, and great for learning the history of the Titanic. Margret Ann's story kept me captivated, and her feelings afterwards are very real and natural. Love, love, love!
I also recommend the other books in the Dear America series, including the Winter of Red Snow, Down the Rabbit Hole, When Will This Cruel War Be Over, and Across the Wide and Lonesome Prairie.
