This movie was absolutely hilarious and I enjoyed every minute of it. I definitely recommend it if you are an action comedy fan. I know this is one of the best movies I have seen in a while and trust me I have seen many movies.

Who doesn't like, The Rock and
Mark Wahlberg? This movie is
outrageous and based on a TRUE story.

I thought it was super funny. And I'm picky when it comes to movies.

One of the worst Rock movies I have ever seen do not recommend watching it if possible don't even watch it

I thought the movie had a strong start, getting me all pumped up with notions of working hard to achieve the "American dream" and "If you think you deserve it, the universe will serve it" but when it descends into the criminal activity it seems pretty disconnected from that - but I guess that's the tragedy of misguided human nature at times. It was still an action-packed adrenaline rush of a film and I enjoyed it, just thought it could have been more solid based on the groundwork of those thrilling opening scenes.

Absolutely crazy movie that had me riveted until the end. I could not believe it was based on real events. Give it a try, well worth it.

Wow was this bad.

Didn't think a movie could be so offensive but I guess it just depends what you watch or what your tastes are. This wasn't for me and I didn't even watch the whole thing.

Just when i thought that the director Michael Bay couldn't get any more offensive or much worse as a director,he does exactly just that with this film period.I knew this film was BAD and that's the reason why i skipped it when the libraries picked this up,but not this bad.The only PAIN that i GAINED was changing my mind about watching this period.I said this before and i am going to say this again:MARK WAHLBERG IS NOT FUNNY AT ALL PERIOD.The rest of the cast embarrassed themselves too and if you didn't see this train wreck by now,SKIP THIS FOREVER.This movie continues this all new trend in Hollywood nowadays of making extremely LONG MOVIES THAT ARE ALSO EXTREMELY BAD MOVIES TOO.If you want this to stop like i do,BOYCOTT THE MOVIE THEATERS AND PAYING FOR THESE DVD'S PERIOD,BUT YOU DON'T HEAR ME THOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought that with some A-list actors this would be a decent movie, I was wrong. This piece of stink isn't worth a pair of old gym shorts.

Pain & Gain is a 2013 American crime-comedy film directed by Michael Bay and starring Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie. The film is based on a story published in a 1999 series of Miami New Times articles written by Pete Collins and compiled in Collins' 2013 book Pain & Gain: This is a True Story, which details the kidnapping, extortion, torture, and murder of several victims by an organized group of criminals that included a number of bodybuilders affiliated with Sun Gym.[4][5] The film is Michael Bay's fourth R-rated film by the MPAA. The film's title is a play on the common exercising adage of No pain, no gain. The adage is used for the French title of the film.

The film was released on April 27, 2013 and received mixed reviews, praising the direction, acting and script but criticizing the violence, the comic chemistry and the historical differences with the real events. The film grossed more than $85 million worldwide, making it one of Michael Bay's lower-grossing films.
