AKA "A Werewolf Boy," "Black Wolf," or "Wolf Boy." Read an English description in "Summary." Credible and original fantasy story with a finale' that was unexpected and heart warming. The ending tune "My prince" was excellent, see "Videos."

When elderly Kim Sumi returns to Korea in order to settle her late mother’s estate, a visit to her former home brings back a flood of memories. When she was a teenager her family befriended a feral boy they found skulking in the barn, eventually taming him into something approaching human. But the boy, Cheolsu, was harboring a very dark secret...and Kim Sumi was beginning to have a few feelings of her own. A manipulative melodrama which plays like a manga written for starry-eyed schoolgirls but its delicate humour and unabashed sentimentality won me over just the same. File this one under “guilty pleasure”.

What a wonderful film! If you're looking for a fresh take on the paranormal, this sweet story of a feral boy and the girl who comes to care for him is for you. There's minimal special effects or any of that, as the heart of this movie is really the relationship between the two leads. The whole film is really more of a romantic fantasy than anything else, with only a few supernatural elements which are downplayed considerably (take the werewolf makeup, for example, which is minimal but very nicely done). The acting of the two leads was outstanding. I watched the commentary in the bonus features, and I can't believe that the lead boy learned how to mime animals so well in a matter of weeks! And he learned it from another cast member, no less---who has a tiny role in the film. Definitely worth watching. I'd recommend this film to anyone, and I dare you not to cry at the end.
