It was just good enough to keep me reading, but it was soooo long. Almost 700 pages! The story could've been told in 300. I enjoyed the characters, and the setting, the plot was just too plodding. Plus there is an awful part where they kill a bunch of Scottish Wildcats, which happen to be an endangered species and are amazing creatures. So that part was pretty disturbing to read. If you don't mind a mostly slow plot, with a few exciting moments then give it a read!
