A contemporary take on the classic Arthur Conan Doyle stories, Sherlock is a thrilling, funny, fast-paced adventure series set in present-day London. The iconic details from Conan Doyle's original books remain: they live at the same address, have the same names, and, somewhere out there, Moriarty is waiting for them. And so across three thrilling, scary, action-packed, and highly modern adventures, Sherlock and John navigate a maze of cryptic clues and lethal killers to get at the truth.

There was a time when this was my favorite piece of fiction. The update was brilliant, the acting superb, and the writing whip-smart. Then the show as a whole got worse as seasons went on, which has colored my feelings for Sherlock. Still a really fantastic few hours of television.

The first season of Sherlock is excellant. All three episodes are good, but I feel the first is the best.

Think you’re good at solving mysteries? Can you riddle your way out of confusing scenarios? Work alongside the famed fictional detective, Sherlock Holmes, (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his sidekick, Watson, (Martin Freeman) in season one of “Sherlock”. This engaging mystery/drama television series has three seasons, each one with three 90- minute episodes. As an interesting spin on the old British series, the show is set in modern-day London.
In the first episode of season one, Sherlock meets and befriends John Watson, and they take it upon themselves to investigate a series of strange murders. When they are successful, they are hired to explore and solve various incidents around town. Throughout the rest of the season, the dynamic duo of Sherlock and Watson continue their detective work and resolve mysteries in a thrilling three part saga.
“Sherlock” is a very interesting show to watch and an even more respectable detective show for a couple of reasons. The first is that every single conclusion that Sherlock and Watson come to is seen. There are no random breakthroughs and sudden bouts of understanding on the detective’s part. In the show, viewers get to witness Sherlock reason with himself and we see a visual breakdown of his thought process. This trait of the story brings more satisfaction to the audience and makes the show even better. The second reason is the superb writing and dialogue. There is dry humour and just enough wit to earn a few chuckles from the viewer. Along with the mild comedy, the roundabout, riddle-some style in which Sherlock speaks is incredibly clever, and adds real dimension to his character, and the show.
If detectives, mysteries, and puzzles are right up your alley, watch season one of “Sherlock”. Try and figure out some things for yourself, while engaging in the fictional life of Sherlock Holmes.

My second-favourite TV series of all time. [Doctor Who is my favourite.] Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are excellent actors! Great supporting cast as well. Much better than Elementary.

Absolutely incredible! This is why I love BBC! A thoroughly entertaining series made even better by starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock and Marin Freeman as Watson. Benedict is absolutely incredible (and enchanting) in this. Highly recommended.

Benedict Cumberbatch brilliantly portrays an arrogant, sociopathic Sherlock who is perfectly matched up with the very sensitive, yet complex, Watson, played by Martin Freeman. The two are an hilarious team. It's very fun to see these two set in the modern world which gives them all the technology of CSI to solve their cases. I highly recommend this series and am looking forward to Season Two.
