A few clever moments early on - a bit more intelligent overall than its ancestor (Sex and the City). Still I found myself progressively losing interest as the first season went on until it became an effort to get through episode 10. It seemed that the characters actually became shallower and the story more cartoonish the longer it went on.

Too much vulgarity and drug use. Characters lack the intelligence to converse without a F bomb in every sentence.

I really wanted to love this - but find it more like a train wreck you can't turn away from. I can't relate to the main character, I find her...off-putting and can't fathom why she does what she does. I enjoyed the stories of her friends and roommates and wished there was more of them, and less of Hannah.

Clever, sexy, sassy and sometimes brassy, Girls is an entertaining look at the friendships of four young women in New York. The plot revolves around how each of the four main characters have different personalities and are at times blessed with different assets and cursed by a variety of liabilities. Fun to watch but not flaky in the least.

LOVE this show! It's like Sex and the City, only more realistic. The characters are flawed in relatable ways. It captures many aspects of a girl's life during this period that I haven't seen anywhere else. The unintentioned selfishness that can come out when you're lost. Hurting each other without meaning to. How hard we try to make things work when they don't and try our darnedest to not hurt anyone else and have it backfire. It's a great show.

I finally submitted to watching this after hearing about it from friends/social media and I am so glad I did! It focuses on a group of 4 friends living in NYC and interlaces their stories through the episodes. I'm sure it's been pointed out that this is similar to Sex and the City starring 20-somethings. Sure, it's silly and very juvenile at times, but there's something about it that I just adore. Lena Dunham is a brilliant writer/director. The ~30 minute duration is perfect for when I want to take a short break, though I typically can't resist watching more than one episode!

Be warned, there is quite a bit of nudity (mostly of Hannah, Lena Dunham's character) and I-can't-look embarrassing moments. Still, I'm half way through season 2 and wish it would never be over. If you're on the fence just give it a chance. You may find your next favorite show!

Too narcissistic, arrogant, linear, and self-absorbing for it's own good. This radically FEMINIST brainwash is screwing up too many females worldwide, making it extremely hard for them to get a husband. The creator of this show Lena Dunham claims that this show is a real portrayal of girls in their 20's in real life, yet this MK ULTRA program is infused with unrealistic situations and outcomes. The extreme promotion of Genetically Modified Organisms aka G.M.O.,is really pathetic also by the way,but the majority of people in real life are willing consumers and conformists to what they see and hear on Television no matter what literally.

Lena Dunham is VERY talented in several roles: actor, writer, director.

I'll be checking out season 2...

I resisted watching Girls because I doubted it could be as good as my friends suggested. I was pleasantly surprised and love it more than my friends expected. It's very real and truly funny with lovable, flawed characters. The cast is all excellent. How can Lena Dunham be so young yet so perceptive and talented? I'm impressed - and entertained.

Was skeptical, but it drew me in.
Engaging !
So much more than Sex and the City.
Thanks Lena Dunham

"Didn't you say that texting was the lowest form of communication on the pillar of chat?" "The totem of chat. No, the lowest, that would be Facebook, followed by G-chat, then texting, then email, then phone. Face-to-face is, of course, ideal, but it's not of this time."

"You're wearing a white dress. Okay? You're essentially begging the world to f**k with you. Do you understand that? You're daring a homeless person to wipe their blood on your breasts. This isn't a consumptive women's hospital. We don't wear aprons. No. Okay? Forget all the BBC you watch at home with your cats and pick out an appropriate outfit."

"If you had been this gay in college, I would have known because I have two eyeballs, two ears--"
"You might want to take some steps back through your other boyfriends, and not for nothing, maybe take a look at your dad."

"I did."
"In what way does my father read gay to you?"
"Ah, well, he has a stud in his ear . . . "
"He got it on a trip he took with his male friends. I heard what that sounded like. I know what that sounded like. You know what I'm going to do now on? Ask people if they're gay before I have sex with them."
"Good luck with that."

"It's more of a Forrest Gump-based fear. That's what Robin Wright Penn's character died of."
