I felt disappointed with this ending. It felt like the author kept changing her mind on where the story was going, like it would head in one direction and she would abruptly switch to another one. First was the rebellion, with Eve's failed attempt of murder, then Eve was on the run, heading back to Califia, then she suddenly decides to go back to the City. It felt choppy, not well transitioned. A lot was underdeveloped, as well. First Eve's relationship with Charles, which is confusing and doesn't get better throughout the story. At all. Then there is bringing the girls from the school, a last minute decision that really was strange considering Eve returned to the City anyways. Then Pip abruptly dies. Then the King dies, the rebels win, and nothing is resolved. Caleb is apparently alive, the dugout boys are presumed dead, the girls have been saved, the City is still uneasy, no ones in charge, suddenly Arden is there, and what did having Eve be pregnant do for the story at all? Not as good as the first book by a long shot

I agree with the previous comment suggesting that they make this fast-paced, exciting trilogy into a movie. This series keeps you on your feet, wondering what kind of U-turn Anna will make next in the story. Anna Carey's writing is incredible! I love her books and have yet to come across one that even comes close. I really wish there was an epilogue online! To those readers who haven't read it yet...READ IT!!! I recommend this book to almost everyone!

A good end, but mostly predictable. It was an interesting idea, but glad to see it all ended well.

Good read. I too wish that the ending was more developed, but overall interesting and easy and quick.

This is a really good book! It kept my attention for the whole time. Anna Carey does a great job putting different twists and turns as well as wrapping up the series. I just wish she would've written a little more at the end. She leaves the reader sort of hanging at the end. You will have to imagine your own ending, for sure. Otherwise, I highly suggest this!

OMFG i can't wait

How far will you go when you have nothing left to lose?

When she lost her soul mate, Caleb, Eve felt like her world had ended. Trapped in the palace, forced to play the part of the happy, patriotic princess of The New America—and the blushing bride of her father's top adviser—Eve's whole life is a lie. The only thing that keeps her going is Caleb's memory, and the revolution he started.

Now, Eve is taking over where Caleb left off. With the help of Moss, an undercover subversive in the King's court, she plots to take down The New America, beginning with the capital, the City of Sand. Will Eve be able to bring about a new, free world when she's called upon to perform the ultimate act of rebellion—killing her father?

In Rise, Eve must choose who to leave behind, who to save, and who to fight as Anna Carey's epic tale of romance and sacrifice in the chilling dystopia of The New America comes to a stunning conclusion.
