Often rated the best album of all time, it WAS an awesome cultural event..Paul is strongest here, having fully taken over the leadership of a leaderless band. If you were alive then, and in California, you might remember that summer it was released: you could be walking around your neighborhood, and out wafting from half-open windows would be the strains of music from this LP(LongPlay). No kidding, you might have just finished listening to Side 1 on your record player, before going outside. Side 2 would likely be playing half way down the block, if not next door to your house. Ah...just imagine it: the temperature a cool 85 degrees, a soft breeze in the air, and the most exciting, promising music of your generation simply everywhere your ears were pointed. Above, under 'Contributors,' giles martin is listed. Now, he may have done some remastering, but who was a band member? All together Now: RINGO!!!! Richard Starkey* is more deserving of being mentioned, than is Producer George Martin's son.*otherwise known as Billy Shears. The standout cut here, for me, is WITHIN YOU, WITHOUT YOU, by George Harrison, and some famous Indian musicians. The giggling at the end of the track, was at the expense of Pete Best, proving that in the material world, even the Beatles could be cruel. And, Giles would not even be born, for two years after the record was released.

Is this the Beatles’ best album? It’s in the top 3 in my view. Every song is a winner and the album as a whole holds together well.
