"In a barren land, a shimmering glass dome houses the survivors of the Switch, the period when oxygen levels plunged and the green world withered. A state lottery meant a lucky few won safety, while the rest suffocated in the thin air. And now Alina, Quinn, and Bea--an unlikely trio, each with their own agendas, their own longings and fears--walk straight into the heart of danger. With two days' worth of oxygen in their tanks, they leave the dome. What will happen on the third day?"--Provided by publisher.

I think this book would have been great except for the mention of sex. Disapointing!!!!!

Ever heard the expression if the government could figure out a way to tax oxygen, they would? Well, that is the premise for Breathe. Quinn is the spoiled rich kid given everything he wants including extra air to exercise and real fruit. Bea is middle class forced to walk no faster than 3 mph and dine on protein enhanced cakes. Alina is a fighter, a terrorist who believes the government is pulling the wool over everyone's eyes. Together they knit a story that will drive them all to examine their broken world differently.

This book is one of those that I hated as much as I liked. I thought Bea was an awesome character, fully developed and easy to cheer for. Quinn and Alina took me more time to warm up to.

To me, Breathe is a frightening example of what power and the love of money can create. The author's writing is compelling and leaves you waiting for the next ball to drop. If anything other than learning to appreciate every breath you take, this book has accomplished enough

If you enjoyed divergent, this book is for you. An amazing plot with descriptive characters, they should make a movie on this! I also just found out that there is a sequel called "Resist". I haven't read it and don't know what it is about yet but it is definitely on my To- Read list. Again I suggest this book to Divergent lovers!

it is a pretty good book. it started off slow but got better the way through. it kinda is dystopian and zombie like. since the drifters in it remind me kinda of zombies but a different kind.

Fast paced, with short chapters, great for reluctant readers. Once you get past the issue of the planet getting rid of the trees (which led to their situation), I think it's a pretty realistic approach to what people will do to keep power. It also does a good job portraying that those fighting the corruption may not be better in that they can be extremists too. The main characters struggle to come to terms with these issues in a realistic way. I will definitely try the follow up "Resist".

I came across this book when looking for material along similar lines as the Hunger Games. The author's idea is fantastic and very unique, but her storyline leaves something to be desired. There are a lot of holes in the plot and the ending left me with more questions then answers. I had high expectations when I started reading, but it was a pretty steep slope downhill. Wouldn't recommend.

Meh, usually I like dystopian themed books but this one was really lacking something. The characters were likeable, however the plot left a lot to be desired. I just thought things could have been explained better and the POVs could have been longer instead of jumping back and forth so quickly.

I think Breathe was a great book. Which honestly I didn't find surprising at all, I mean look at the cover its so darn gorgeous!! I loved the characters it was kind of like a love triangle between Bea, Quinn and Alina. Though I did kind of find it strange that Quinn would call Alina the girl of his dreams just after meeting her once, I loved Bea's devotion and love for Quinn, she was willing to stay quiet and not profess her love since it meant she could be near him. This book was full of twists and turns and I could not predict what would happen after each book. I'm certainly looking forward to reading the next book of this series!!

I really enjoyed this book. It is a great sci-fi book that makes you appreciate life as it is now. Some aspects of the storyline were predictable, but overall it was an engaging read
