The Tufa have lived in the mountains of East Tennessee for as long as anyone can imagine. Their history is enigmatic and long forgotten. When Bronwyn Hyatt, who is of Tufa decent, returns from Iraq wounded, she is like a different person. She has lost touch with her people's traditions, and omens of tragedy hang over her every step.

Absolutely RIVETING -one and only book- I've ever taken time to read twice. The first few pages lay the cornerstone -then the unforgettable tale begins...

Moreover, the narrators of this book should receive awards for their captivating performance.
