Chicago Stars quarterback Dean Robillard is the luckiest man in the world: a bona-fide sports superstar and the pride of the NFL with a profitable side career as a buff billboard model for End Zone underwear. But life in the glory lane has started to pale, and Dean has set off on a cross-country trip to figure out what's gone wrong. When he hits a lonely stretch of Colorado highway, he spies something that will shake up his gilded life in ways he can't imagine. A young woman ... dressed in a beaver suit. Blue Bailey is on a mission to murder her ex. Or at least inflict serious damage. As for the beaver suit she's wearing ... Is it her fault that life keeps throwing her curveballs? Witness the expensive black sports car pulling up next to her on the highway and the Greek god stepping out of it. Blue's career as a portrait painter is the perfect job for someone who refuses to stay in one place for very long. She needs a ride, and America's most famous football player has an imposing set of wheels. Now, all she has to do is keep him entertained, off guard, and fully clothed before he figures out exactly how desperate she is.

What great characters! What great dialogue! Had me laughing from the first moment the headless beaver (what?) made her entrance.

Up there with other great S.E. Phillips' books ("Call Me Irresistible", "This Heart of Mine" and "Match Me If You Can"). Lots of fun! It's great to have other fun interlocking stories permeating the main one! Highly recommended if you like romantic and funny novels.

cute, fun loving, humorous, what more could you ask for? it even pulled out some deep emotions in parts of the book. Loved the interlocking plots of each very different character ranging from all age groups. a great example of the perfect romcom, in my opinion.

A little uneven, but overall a funny story that maintains a nice pace and casts a worthwhile group of characters. (Bottom line: I laughed. What more do you want from a light romcom?)

When star quarterback Dean Robillard meets artist Blue Bailey she is wearing a beaver suit at the side of the road and an unusual romance begins. They both have complications in their lives. Dean has family problems, a mother he despises, a father he has no contact with, and an eleven-year-old sister looking for a home. Blue has financial worries and family problems of her own. The two immediately butt heads and try to ignore their growing attraction - but the time they spend at Dean's new farmhouse in east Tennessee changes both their lives and the lives many other around them.
