You have good reason to be afraid ... It was a case that haunts Bobby Dodge to this day -- the case that nearly killed him and changed his life forever. Now, in an underground chamber on the grounds of an abandoned Massachusetts mental hospital, the gruesome discovery of six mummified corpses resurrects his worst nightmare: the return of a killer he thought dead and buried. There's no place to run ... Bobby's only lead is wrapped around a dead woman's neck. Annabelle Granger has been in hiding for as long as she can remember. Her childhood was a blur of new cities and assumed identities. But what -- or who -- her family was running from, she never knew. Now a body is unearthed from a grave, wearing a necklace bearing Annabelle's name, and the danger is too close to escape. This time, she's not going to run. You know he will find you ... The new threat could be the dead psychopath's copycat, his protégé -- or something far more terrifying. Dodge knows the only way to find him is to solve the mystery of Annabelle Granger, and to do that he must team up with his former lover, partner, and friend D.D. Warren from the Boston P.D. But the trail leads back to a woman from Bobby's past who may be every bit as dangerous as the new killer -- a beautiful survivor-turned-avenger with an eerie link to Annabelle. From its tense opening pages to its shocking climax, Hide is a thriller that delves into our deepest, darkest fears. Where there is no one to trust. Where there is no place left to hide.

I haven't had the time to read more fiction, lately.

A few weeks ago, I was on the phone with my bookaholic mother and she shared with me how she was reading this great book with awesome plot hooks and unexpected occurrences...that's my kind of story! I pulled it up on my library website while she continued to describe it and I begged her not to spoil it for me, just as I successfully got a copy via Overdrive (God Bless technology)!

It was hard to pull away from it; I enjoyed it so much that I now want to read all her other books.

This was a great book. I had a hard time putting it down. I was always trying to solve the mystery.

This is my first Lisa Gardner novel and I wasn't disappointed. The story development was well done and I enjoyed the characters, their personalities, and how they fit into the story. The twists and turns in the story always kept my interest and I was never bored. I found this book hard to put down and I thoroughly enjoyed the pace. I found myself asking how all the pieces fit together and in the end it was explained well. I was able the guess the "bad guys" in the book, but that didn't take away from seeing how it all played out in the end by the author. I'd definitely consider another Lisa Gardner book and recommend this one for a fun read.

one of the best mystery books I've ever read. I probably changed my list of suspects at least six times, the new secrets plucked from the story keeping me hooked. Every time you turned a page another unexpected event happened. Definitely not predictable, and a book I couldn't stop reading, at times I felt like I was reading dreadfully slow because I just needed to know what would happen next, in a good way though. Recommended.

My first exposure to Gardner, and I plan to read more. Interesting, suspenseful plot with lots of twists leading to unexpected outcomes. Storytelling style also different: partly in the third person (with respect to the police and other characters), partly in the first person (with respect to the main character, who spent her childhood on the run with her family).

I've enjoyed reading many of Lisa Gardner's books, but this one is my favourite. From beginning to end it's filled with suspense and twists and turns that keep you guessing till the surprising ending. Love the Dodge and Warren characters that Gardner has created in this series.

Gardner's got to be one of the creepiest writer's I've ever read. She sends chills down my spine and has me constantly double checking locks and turning on lights.

What makes Gardner so creepy? Is that it's all realistic. She doesn't give 'imaginary' monsters she gives you the ones that make the news, can terror a city and cause the images and events to last with you forever. Let's face it, the human monster is a lot scarer then any ghost story and when the monster is after children? Makes it even more terrifying, especially if you're a parent. Plus, Gardner never holds back when it comes to details and description, you feel like you're there.

Gardner threw so many red herring's into this book but all of them felt plausible, got to love that. I honestly had no solid clue who it was. I bounced around from person to person and the climax of this book still had me wide eyed and shocked. She's brilliant. The style of her writing and how she gives but still lives you chilled is awesome. You're convinced you know the killer but then things shift and while you haven't fully given up your idea you're left unsure.

Annabelle is such an amazing character. Definitely one of my favorites. She lost her childhood and she didn't even know why, which is even more heart breaking because as you are piecing together the events you get to watch her reaction to all the events unfolding. Loved the strength she possessed but was still so fragile. So broken but not in a whiney way.

I need to mention how much I love the attention to detail Gardner has. It's not CSI. An autopsy isn't done in 15 minutes with toxicology reports back in minutes and while you want the information because you know it can help the case you don't get it. It's realistic and that just pulls out the tension and curiosity even more because you're constantly left hanging.

While I was reading this I was scared. I read with my back to the wall, turned on lights through out the house and after I was finished reading, around 2 am in the morning as I can't not finish her books in one seating as it scares me too much, I curled up to my husband. I still had horrible nightmares all night but I love when a book can play with you so much. Make you that scared and feel it so much.
