What is your number one investment priority? Beating the market averages? Finding the next "hot" stock? Making a modest ten percent a year on your money? If you found yourself nodding in agreement to any of those suggestions, you need to rethink your whole approach to money management. The number one goal of every investor should actually be to sleep comfortably at night. Personal finance expert Gordon Pape explains that if you adopt the sleep-easy philosophy as your basic credo and judge all your investment decisions on how well they meet this down-to-earth test, both your health and wealth will benefit.

When the book was published in 2008, a large portion of the data was based upon 2007 fiscal information. Much has changed; the introduction of laddered bond ETFs (CBO), laddered Preferred ETFs(ZPR), and of course the introduction of the TFSA in 2009. As a result, a majority of the information is clearly dated, but much of the basic information still rings true; asset allocation, risk/reward strategies, and levels of taxation on various investment vehicles. Overall a light read and a good introduction to very basic investing.
