The Fault in Our Stars follows the love story of teenagers Hazel and Augustus, who both have experience with suffering from cancer and throughout the novel develop a beautiful and emotional romance. When I first started reading this book, I’ll admit I had high expectations and was a little hard on giving it a chance because of all the hype it had garnered, but I ended up really loving this novel. Poignant, romantic, and tragic, this book had me on an emotional rollercoaster. It definitely made me cry a few times. The writing certainly felt very typical Y/A which is what I expected. It wasn’t bad but it was too generic in my opinion (but that is what to expect when it is narrated in the first person perspective of a teenage girl). Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys YA romances!

First off I would like to say that this book is one of the reasons I started to enjoy books because of the emotion and quality behind the Author John Green. The Fault in our Stars is about a sixteen year old Hazel Grace Lancaster, who has to use a portable oxygen tank due to her cancer. Her parents and doctor both push her to go to a cancer support group where she meets a boy named Augustus Waters. They both share a common trait they both have/had cancer. Augustus has had osteosarcoma, a rare bone disease, but has recently been cleared of it. Throughout the book Hazel and Augustus learn more about each other and go through a rollercoaster of emotions. They take a trip together later on where Augustus shares some devastating news that will change their lives. I really enjoyed this book due to the unforeseen events and the story between Hazel and Augustus. I also enjoyed how you got to hear about other people in the cancer support group where they showed friendships being made between the main characters and their mutual friend, Isaac. The one thing I wish the book would have had would definitely be how things end up for Hazel. If you like young adult books with humor and heart-wrenching events this book is for you.

The Fault in Our Stars focuses on the story of 16-year-old Hazel, a young girl diagnosed with lung cancer. To cope with the stress, anxiety, and depression she faces caused by her cancer, her family convinces her to attend a cancer support group at a local church.

Fault in our Stars by John Green narrates the love story between Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters, who are two teen cancer patients. Before Augustus Waters, Hazel Grace was just another 17 yr old cancer patient, who had big dreams in her life but thought she could never accomplish them. However, Augustus Waters changed that as he brought happiness and joy to Hazels’s life and pushed her too look at life in a new way. Their friendship starts from them bonding over books to a budding romance that John Green portrays beautifully. The ending of this book is truly heartbreaking, and is a complete tearjerker, and lets the reader experience a whirlwind of emotions. The chemistry between Hazel and Gus is absolutely amazing and I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in romance young adult books. This book will let you think about strong topics such as death, love, and how to live your life to the fullest.

Hazel Lancaster is a 17-year-old cancer patient who lives with her mom. They attend a cancer support group and Anna meets a boy named Augustus Waters through their mutual friend, Isaac. He invites Hazel to his house to watch a movie. There they learn more about each other. Hazel has thyroid cancer which has spread to her lungs. Augustus used to have osteosarcoma but is cancer-free after having his leg amputated. Before they leave, they give each other a book to read. Hazel’s book is about a cancer patient to who she relates to but mysteriously ends mid-sentence. As their relationship grows, Hazel becomes more worried that she will hurt Augustus once she dies. This book reminds me a lot of the movie 5 feet apart which is one of my favorite movies of all time. With that being said, I believe this book is even greater than 5 feet apart.

The Fault in our Stars is about a 16-year-old girl named Hazel Grace with cancer that makes it hard for her to breathe. She in a way isolates herself from society and stays at home a lot of the time. She meets this boy at a cancer support group named Augustus who shows her a new way of life and teaches her important life lessons such as it’s important to have fun or it’s sometimes okay to make impulsive choices. This is a well-written book. I loved reading about their romance and life from their perspective. I definitely recommend this book, but it is pulled more to a female audience. It’s amazing how different but the same their lives are because they have cancer. It teaches us to live life because you only have one and the importance of human companionship.

16-year-old Hazel has stage 4 thyroid cancer. Despite numerous medical procedures buying her more time, there is one thing Hazel knows: her cancer will kill her. However, during a Cancer Kid Support Group meeting, intelligent and handsome Augustus arrives. Hazel and Augustus’ love story stems from the get-go, but at every opportunity, cancer forces a wedge between the two.

The Fault in Our Stars is a highly praised novel, and there’s even a movie version. I wouldn’t say it made me cry, but I was definitely emotional by the end of the book. The plot is predictable, but nevertheless, still fun to read; thus it receives a solid four stars!

How will Hazel kiss if she can hardly breathe? She sets boundaries on her and Gus's sexual interractions. He understands, respects and accepts them.
