Things are finally looking up for defense attorney Mickey Haller. After two years of wrong turns, Haller is back in the courtroom. When Hollywood lawyer Jerry Vincent is murdered, Haller inherits his biggest case yet: the defense of Walter Elliott, a prominent studio executive accused of murdering his wife and her lover. But as Haller prepares for the case that could launch him into the big time, he learns that Vincent's killer may be coming for him next.

Enter Harry Bosch. Determined to find Vincent's killer, he is not opposed to using Haller as bait. But as danger mounts and the stakes rise, these two loners realize their only choice is to work together.

Bringing together Michael Connelly's two most popular characters, The Brass Verdict is sure to be his biggest book yet.

This was strictly a crime attorney's novel, with the Harry Bosch - - Mickey Haller connection thrown in or established - - compared to the relatively staid by enjoyable Bosch novels, this was mighty slow, but still an explemary read.

Not as exciting as some of his others but think this was one of his earlier books.

Michael Haller is starting back to work as a lawyer, after taking a year off. Mickey's ready to take on a couple of cases, and get his feet wet again when a long-time friend is killed, leaving Haller & Associates his business and current caseload. Among the 31 cases Mickey inherits is a high profile murder case. While trying to reconstruct his predecessors' defense strategy, Mickey must also be on alert for whoever killed his friend, Jerry Vincent, and hope that he doesn't fall victim to the same fate. Add in Detective Harry Bosch investigating Vincent's murder, and things are starting to feel intense to say the least.

I enjoyed reading about the crimes in LA from a lawyer's point of view, and how it plays out in court with plenty of scheming and last minute surprises.

Another winner in the Lincoln Lawyer series! The setup is well crafted and yet again sees Mickey put in an indefensible position. Connelly seems to excel at created truly evil antagonists to face off against his highly complex defense attorney. I love the courtroom scenes in this series; no other author out there imbues them with such twists and outright fun.

I didn't like the previous Connelly book, but gave this one a chance and was rewarded. this is in the Lincoln lawyer series, this time shared with Hieronymous Bosch. Good enough to make me continue reading.
