For long stretches, it seems to be more about the divers than about the oceans, but there is enough to keep the person interested in oceans (biology, geology, archeology, conservation, are the main areas of focus) to continue watching. A bit too preachy at times.

This was the BEST series I have seen on the oceans. This crew spent a year on several expeditions, at least one to each ocean & a few seas. I learned a LOT about every aspect of each area. The scientists were REALLY good at explaining things & showing what the good, bad & ugly sides of the ocean are. I loved that they made an attempt at reversing some environmental damage in one ocean & talked about why it happened & how their actions would hopefully make it right.

I *highly* recommend this set to anyone with the slightest interest in our planet's oceans -- you will finish it with a love of them!
