Hilary McKay revisits Miss Minchin's Select Seminary for Young Ladies after the events of 'A Little Princess'. Sara is much missed - and most acutely by best friend Ermengarde. But life must go on as new friendships are made, rivalries continued, lessons learned and, most importantly, fairytale endings are had.

A sequel to a beloved book is seldom as good. This one is dreadful. It is difficult to follow the plot points even if you know A Little Princess storyline and characters very well. Characters do not "stay" in character--especially Sara Crewe (over-sweet and earnest in ALP) who is rather unfeeling. Cherish your delight in ALP and don't waste time and emotions on WfT.
