One of my favorites. Not quite as good as the book, but definitely came close.

One of my personal top five favorite movies! This flick holds up incredibly well with its timeless characters (and adorable actors). Excellently paced, with a fantastic range of comedy and drama. It never takes itself too seriously, and yet you find yourself truly caring for the cast.

Ridiculous. Oh I'm sorry, did I say ridiculous? I meant ridiculously funny! Seriously, though, I loved this movie. Drama, humor, romance, humor, swordfighting, humor, puns, etc. And humor. What I found odd was that I didn't like the book at all, but the background from the book made the movie more enjoyable. Basically, the movie is the good parts of the book, acted out. If you haven't watched this movie, you've missed out on hilarious quotes, outlandish plots and schemes, and a modern classic fairy tale. So much fun!

A whimsical and swashbuckling all-ages romance and faerie tale that is equally entertaining to children and adults. Parents will want to watch with younger kids, as there are some scary scenes, but this is a great candidate for family movie night as there is something in it for everyone.

The Princess Bride has withstood the test of time better than many '80s movies. It has something for everyone: romance, humor, action, adventure, good performances and quotable lines.

Can farmer boy Wesley win back his true love, the stunningly beautiful Buttercup, from the evil plans of crafty Prince Humperdink? He'll need more than an army of trained solidiers for this job-the likes of which include a blood-thirsty bandit, a not-so-smart giant, and a spirited old miracle man. 11+ because of some thematic events, violence including blood, stabbing, fire, biting, blood-curdling screams, sword slices. There is also one mention of the word "son of a b-tch" (I don;t know if there is other language around those lines; I just advise caution).

A kindly grandfather sits down with his grandson and reads him a bedtime story. The story is one that has been passed down from father to son for generations. As the grandfather reads the story, the action comes alive. The story is a classic tale of love and adventure as the beautiful Buttercup, engaged to the odious Prince Humperdinck, is kidnapped and held against her will in order to start a war, It is up to Westley (her childhood beau, now returned as the Dread Pirate Roberts) to save her. On the way he meets a thief and his hired helpers, an accomplished swordsman and a huge, super strong giant, both of whom become Westleys' companions in his quest.
