Follow a day in the life of the panda cubs at China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda at the Wolong Nature Preserve, the largest research facility for giant pandas in China. Cubs are raised together in a protected setting--dubbed panda kindergarten--where they grow strong and learn skills that will help prepare them to be released into the wild when they are older. With spare text by veteran nonfiction writer Joanne Ryder and irresistible full-color photographs by Katherine Feng, whose work has appeared in National Geographic, Panda Kindergarten will delight young readers as they learn more about these amazing creatures.

Panda Kindergarten is an endearing book about cute pandas, and how they need a little tender loving care from human helpers to learn how get a long in the real world. It makes you want to take a panda home and hug him tonight!

As if the cover image of a baby panda with its paws in the air weren't tempting enough, the contents of Panda Kindergarten are definitely irresistible: countless photos of the baby giant pandas, with their short furry legs and tiny pink tongues, who make up the "panda kindergarten" at China's Wolong Nature Reserve. While the book's text describes the basics of how pandas are cared for at the Reserve, it's the photo illustrations of the fuzzy, black-and-white cubs that steal the show (as well as young readers' hearts). Panda fanatics will want to check out Sandra Markle's How Many Baby Pandas? for more facts, but just as many "awwww"-inducing photos.
