I love the Jack Taylor character: how much physical abuse can he survive? why doesn't he drop dead of alcohol poisoning by 10am? his personal demons are so many he almost needs a parade permit to walk down the street. But his heart is pure gold, and somehow, he always gets the job done. Reminds me of a workplace I once had to endure.
Best of all, the writing just clips along.
