Believe it, or not - Johnny Depp isn't the worst thing about this junk. But he sure comes close.

I liked this DVD. It is too violent for children. It is quite graphic. The music was well done. It is 2 hours in length. The Broadway show is 2.5 hours. The movie skips some of the songs. They followed the script well. If you like musical drama, you will like this DVD. The actors did a great job!

The fantastical stylings of Director Tim Burton are on full display here in this dark, moody and musical rendition of the tale of Sweeney Todd, the vengeful barber who after being unjustly sent to prison by the wickedly cruel Judge Turpin and the death of his wife, returns to London where he sets up his unscrupulous business and adds the element of murder to his occupation. Accompanied by his accomplice Mrs. Lovett the piemaker, he butchers several unsuspecting patrons and their throats are slit thus making them an ingredient in the meat pies. Everything comes together, and this is a delightfully fun and dark movie.

Has all the big shot actors: Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman, Helen Bohem Carter... and it's directed by Tim Burtom so it is a little... creepy...

Sweeney Todd: [singing about razors] These are my friends. / See how they glisten. / See this one shine, / How he smiles in the light. / My friend, my faithful friend. / Speak to me, friend. / Whisper, I'll listen. / I know, I know- / You've been locked out of sight all these years- / Like me, my friend. / Well, I've come home / To find you waiting. / Home, and we're together, / And we'll do wonders, won't we?
