Begins in 2003, when Canada by apparent coincidence legalizes gay marriage and medical marijuana on the same day. Quiet, boring Canada suddenly explodes. Citizens from "The Land of the Free" flock across the border to marry their same-sex partners; others come to smoke marijuana. AWOL American soldiers arrive to seek refugee status. But within months, Canada re-criminalizes marijuana and there's a campaign to revoke gay marriage. Explores how these issues were viewed in the United States and the pressure Bush's America exerted.

Excellent. Proof that Canada has been different, and kinder, than the USA.
