Book review: "Absolute Boyfriend" by Yuu Watase tells the story of a shy teenage girl named Riiko Izawa. She's been rejected by too many cute guys and it's been bugging her ever since. One day, she finds a cellphone and the guy who was on the phone told her to meet him at a nearby cafe. His name is Gaku Namikiri, often mistaken to be a cosplayer due to his way of dressing up. He offers Riiko a free trial to buy one of their love "figures." Riiko decides to give it a try and the following day, she receives a package containing the naked guy, asking to be her boyfriend. Now, Riiko and her boyfriend, "Night Tenjo" living a happy life together for 3 days, is soon taken to a shocking revelation to where Gaku asks Riiko for a million dollars if she doesn't return him in time. Can Riiko pay off her debt or not? I think that this is one of the best mangas I've read right now. It contains many teenager problems such as, being in a relationship or looking pretty. There are a lot of embarrassing (yet witty) moments in this book and innuendos mentioned that may not be suitable for kids. However, the author did an ABSOLUTE wonderful job on the art, story and character developments. Especially the cover, it attracts a WIDE range of teenage girls (and maybe boys) to read this book. There are some interesting love going on in here as well. Perhaps a love triangle? Recommended for teens and older, definitely need to check this out.

I wasn't sure whether or not I'd like this series, but I was pleasantly surprised.Absolute Boyfriend is lighter and funnier than I thought it would be. (I read this too long ago to remember what happened in specific volumes.)

The only good manga series by this author. I swear her other series are so outdated and they also have horrible plots in my opinion.
